The Very Best of INXS collection has earned the now broken-up group both Diamond Album and Artist of the Decade honors back home in their native Australia.
A Diamond Album is given for 10 million sales in the U.S., but due to the difference in population, half-a-million gets a Diamond Album in Australia. Former INXS members Tim Farriss and Kirk Pengilly were recently on hand to pick up their trophies at the ARIA Awards, Australia’s equivalent of the Grammys, last week. The two also presented the Best Band trophy to Tame Impala.
To date, The Very Best of INXS has spent a whopping 430 weeks in the ARIA Top 100 albums chart, including seven weeks at number-one. (Billboard)
