Elton John has nothing but nice things to say about Gorillaz’ frontman Damon Albarn. Elton has done a lot of collabs with big names this year… but he says Damon is “special.”
Elton lends his keys and vocals on “The Pink Phantom” for Gorillaz’ latest project “Song Machine.” In a new interview, he says he really enjoyed working with Damon, who he “really, really admires.”
“I think he's a British jewel because he just does what he wants and, for him, success is just working with great musicians like Tony Allen, just doing things that interest him,” he adds. “He's just done so many different things… this is a mind I admire because he's always looking forward."
