The upcoming Elvis biopic from Baz Luhrman will feature several musicians in the cast, including Gary Clark, Jr. who will play blues singer Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup. Yola has also been tapped to play Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
The movie is currently shooting in Australia and it stars Austin Butler as Elvis Presley, Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker. Olivia DeJonge is portraying Priscilla Presley.
The movie will take a close look at Elvis’ life and musical legacy, along with his partnership with Parker.
The film’s cast also stars Shonka Dukureh as Big MamaThornton, Kelvin Harrison Jr. portraying B.B. King and Alton Mason starring as Little Richard.
