The Jacksons' will offer up their first three albums recorded after leaving Motown in expanded form and revisit an important time in their amazing careers.
Marlon, Jackie and Tito Jackson said that moving on from Motown to Epic in 1976 did coincide with a widening of their artistic perspective.
The Jacksons worked with Philly Soul legends Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff and that would give a fresh new sound along with producers who encouraged the brothers to write their own material.
Marlon and Tito discussed working with Gamble and Huff:
Marlon: "It was our first time leaving the umbrella of Motown and we wanted to do a different sound. And these albums are totally different from the sounds that we were doing with Motown, that was geared to a totally different demographic...
Tito: "We were going through voice changes, our age and all that...
Marlon: "Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff did that first album; we did a couple of songs on there. They came up with some great songs at that time."
