America hopes to be able to do at least part of their 2021 tour. Founder Gerry Beckley says he regularly checks with band management and remains optimistic shows could start again after August 1st.
Several other artists have worked on resuming their shows near Memorial Day, but Beckley is taking a more cautious approach.
He says, "The gymnastics that the management and agencies have had to do. We had a hundred shows on the books; the good is they weren't canceled, they were postponed. And they have twice been moved, because they're of course moved six months in hopes that this would all be gone by the end of last year, and, of course, it wasn't. But we are all watching each other's schedule. Some of my friends have dates in June. And I wish that was the case, but I think that's a little bit early. I think we're looking at August... fingers crossed."
