Paul McCartney's second album, Ram, turns 50 this year and a limited edition vinyl pressing of the iconic album will go on sale on May 14th.
Ram is the only album credited to both Paul and Linda McCartney. The album was put together mostly at the couple’s farm in Scotland, following studio sessions in New York. The album also featured other musicians—like Wings founding member Danny Seiwell.
The album was finished in early 1971 and released in May. The album also featured McCartney’s first solo #1 sing “Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey.” It also featured the hit “Another Day.”
Rolling Stone called the album a “masterpiece” and “a grand psychedelic ramble full of divine melodies. ”McCartney said earlier this week that he’d be open to the idea of having other artists do their versions of the songs from the album at some point.
