The Moody Blues' John Lodge returns with a new single

Moody Blues’ bassist John Lodge releases his new digital single "The Sun Will Shine" today (Friday, April 30th).

John says he was inspired to write the song while he self-isolated the past year and watched the sunrise every morning over Cocohatchee Bay on Florida’s gulf coast near his home.

John says, "It's really about trying to put a little together that doesn't seem to be related to COVID and lockdown, but really it is. The message really is that it will get better and the sun will shine for everyone the way that you look at your life. If you think of it being positive it will shine."

Jon Davison of Yes does backup vocals on "The Sun Will Shine." The song is one of three contained on Lodge's new EP, On Reflection, which will be released in September.

"Sunset Over Cocahatchee Bay," and a remix "In These Crazy Times" are also on the EP.

John asked, “Who could have thought this pandemic is still with us?" He adds, "I’m just grateful that I have my music to keep me company, and in a surreal way it has kept me focused on writing and recording new songs..."
