Elton John’s legions of fans have made his classic “Crocodile Rock” one of the most enduring hits of all time—and Elton admits it’s one of his least favorite songs.
Elton appeared on British soccer pro Troy Deeney's podcast a few days ago and says he only performs “Crocodile Rock’ because fans love it so much.
Elton says, "'Crocodile Rock,' the last time I have to sing that, I will probably throw a party. People love to hear it. And it was written as kind of a joke, as a pastiche and it became a big hit -- and people love to sing along with it. So, who am I say I'm not going to play it, because I play to amuse people and entertain people. But I have to say when the last show at the end of the tour, I will never ever sing that song again." Elton also touched on his first big American hit, “Your Song,” saying: "doesn't mind never being able to get away from [it]... [It's] a really nice song and I never get fed up with singing it."
