Micky Dolenz of The Monkees is preparing for a farewell tour which won’t include half the legendary 60’s group, so it won’t be called a “Monkees” tour.
Dolenz told Rolling Stone, "For all intents and purpose, Mike [Nesmith] and I are the remnants of The Monkees. That’s why we [call the upcoming tour] The Monkees Present: The Mike and Micky Show. When Mike and I agreed to do this, we said we couldn’t call it The Monkees without Peter [Tork] and David [Jones]. And so we don’t, and I don’t, to this day."
“The Mike and Micky Show” tour is scheduled to being September 10th, in Seattle and wrap up November 14th at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.
