Seger talks about the end of the road with touring

Bob Seger labeled his most recent tour as his “farewell” tour and now that really is official it appears after the death of Silver Bullet Band sax player Alto Reed last December.

Reed passed away from colon cancer last year. Seger appeared on SiriusXM last week and he recalled the last conversation he had with Reed. Seger said, . "I listened really hard to him, and he said 'how grateful I am for my wonderful life.' ... I thought that was so beautiful, and I thought he was so brave. I don't think I could go out (on tour) without him."

Among Reed’s biggest contributions to Bob Seger’s music including the opening to “Turn the Page” and his sax solos in “Old Time Rock and Roll” and his work on the classic “Mainstreet.”

Looks like that is an official exclamation point on the touring careers of Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band.
