This week marks the 50th anniversary of Joni Mitchell’s classic ‘Blue’ album and the music legend has surprised fans with a digital EP of outtakes from the album.
It’s a 5-track EP called ‘Blue 50 (Demos & Outtakes) and it includes demos of “California,” a really early version of “A Case of You,” and alternate versions of “River” and “urge For Going. ”It also includes a previously unreleased studio recording of “Hunter.”
The EP will included on Joni’s second archival release, “Joni Mitchell Archives Vol. 2: The Reprise Years (1968 To 1971),” which will be released on October 29th.
Fans can get it as a five-CD set and a limited edition 10-LP collection, (with only 4,000 copies available.)
The release will also feature several unreleased recordings and it will include liner notes and an interview with Cameron Crowe.
