Set the Night on Fire: Living, Dying, and Playing Guitar With the Doors will be published on October 12th.
He has laid out his story in a series of vignettes such as the pawnshop where he bought his first guitar; being arrested as a teenager for drugs; songwriting with Jim Morrison; and The Doors’ first shows in backyards and empty bars.
He'll also share previously untold stories about the band, and, in a statement from his publisher, he also "goes into heartbreaking detail about his life’s most difficult struggles, ranging from drug addiction, to his twin brother’s mental breakdown, to his own battle with cancer. Counterbalancing the sorrow are humorous anecdotes about run-ins with unstable fans, famous musicians, and one really angry monk.”
And, as Krieger told us last year, he is also working on developing a theatrical release on his former band.
