George Harrison’s first post-Beatles album ‘All Things Must Pass’ turns 50 this year and fans can enjoy a new 50th anniversary edition beginning today.
The 50th anniversary edition of ‘All Things Must Pass’ features 23 Harrison classics on a 3-record set. The tracks have all been remixed from the original tapes to brighten the sound and make the songs sound fuller. The late George Harrison discussed his desire years ago to remix ‘All Things Must Pass.’ He said, "It's very big. You know, I think if I could, I'd like to sometime just re-juice the studio ones down a bit."
Harrison’s son Dhani oversaw production of the album’s reissue and said, “Making this album sound clearer was always one of my dad’s greatest wishes and it was something we were working on together right up until he passed. But with the help of new technology ... we are now able to make that happen."
Harrison classics on ‘All Things Must Pass’ include "My Sweet Lord," What Is Life," "Isn't it a Pity," "Beware of Darkness" and the title track.
“My Sweet Lord” was the first post-Beatles hit to go to #1.
