A 33-minute recording featuring John Lennon playing the song “Radio Peace” has just sold at auction this week in Copenhagen, Denmark for almost $58,000, which was about $11,000 more than an estimated sale price.
“Radio Peace” was recorded on January 5th, 1970 as part of a 30-minute conversation with four Danish students for a school magazine. Among items discussed in the recording were Lennon and Yoko Ono’s ongoing peace campaign, John’s issues with the image of The Beatles and more.
By the way, Lennon and Yoko spent the winter of 1969-1970 living in a small Danish town, where they spent time with wife Yoko’s daughter Kyoko, who was living in the area with her father, who was Yoko's second husband, Anthony Cox.
