Paul McCartney recently revealed that he never really got around to telling his late songwriting partner, good friend and Beatles bandmate John Lennon that he loved him.
Sir Paul spoke at Friday's London launch event for his book ‘The Lyrics ’ McCartney responded to a comment made by Irish poet Paul Muldoon that McCartney’s love for Lennon comes through strongly in the book.
Paul replied, “It’s true. You say that I loved him, but as 16-year-old and 17-year-old Liverpool kids, you couldn’t say that – it just wasn’t done. So I never did. I never really said, ‘You know, I love you, man’. I never really got round to it." Sir Paul added, "it is great to just realize how much I love this man.” (NME)
