Elton John is finally set to resume the U.S. dates on his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour with a show tonight in New Orleans.
This will be Elton’s first full concert since March 7th, 2020.Elton’s guitarist Davey Johnstone says that when they launched the tour, they didn't expect to still be going in 2022. He also said COVID, along with the increasing demand for tickets, means there’s much more to come.
Davey added, "It really is the never-ending farewell tour. Covid hasn't helped that obviously. We've had a two year break. We should have been pretty much done by now. I think it's great that we're getting to have another kind of go around. And I think what's happened is the popularity of the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour has proved so huge that so many people want to see it and they want to experience it one more time before we finally put it to bed."
Elton’s tour will head to Texas with a show in Houston on Friday.
