Steven Tyler gave his first performance in two years Sunday night. The legendary rocker hosted his annual Grammy Viewing Party at the Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood, California.
Tyler performed a solo piano version of "Dream On," and later joined Jessie J on "Walk This Way." Jessie filled in for Miley Cyrus who was supposed to perform but canceled after she tested positive for COVID.
Tyler’s event raised money for Janie’s Fund, a partnership with Youth Villages to help girls overcome abuse and trauma. Tyler’s "Dream On" piano he’s used on tour sold at auction $700,000. Also a photo with Tyler at the Sunday event taken by celebrity photographer Andy Gotts sold for $100,000.
Billy Gibbons, Dee Snider and Richie Sambora also attended the event.
Tyler talked about life during the pandemic, telling Variety, “It was strange and I was on an island somewhere out to sea. I was just as scared as anyone else. I went through a lot of things myself. It wasn’t all honey and let’s go get some yogurt and go swimming and see the sharks. It was a lot of stuff going on.”
Tyler and Aerosmith are scheduled to do three more of their Deuces are Wild residencies in Las Vegas this year. The next one is June 17th at Park MGM.
