Longtime KISS drummer Peter Criss returned to the stage last Sunday night at the Cutting Room in New York City, five years after doing his “farewell show” there in 2017.
Criss joined Australian band Sisters Doll, who backed him at the farewell show back in 2017. They performed three songs -- "Don't You Let Me Down" and "You Matter to Me" from his self-titled 1978 album, and "Words" from his 1980 album, Out of Control.
This was a warm-up for Criss’ set with the band this coming weekend at Creatures Fest in Nashville. Criss will also perform with ex-KISS guitar legend Ace Frehley at the event.Criss will also do fan meet-and-greets with several following protocols, following his bout with cancer.
Criss said, "I'm letting you all know that I am doing well and feeling great. I'm looking forward to seeing you all very soon. I want to inform you that I will be requiring everyone to wear a mask when they enter my room and your hands will be sanitized before you meet me. Masks will be provided for you from my staff. We'd like to keep this event a safe event for all who attend.”
He added, "There will be a social distancing, non-plexiglass maskless photo op. We hope you will be happy with the safe and cool idea we have for it."
Creatures Fest will also include sets by ex-KISS guitarists Bruce Kulick and Vinnie Vincent.
