Wolfgang Van Halen speaks up in a new interview

Wolf Van Halen recently discussed several subjects from what motivated many of the lyrics on his debut ‘Mammoth WVH’ album, to the tribute concert for his late father, Eddie, along with his next album and where he thinks his career is going.

Wolf revealed in an interview with Rolling Stone that he feels like he's had people in his family and people he considered friends cheat, steal and "take advantage of" him and "abuse [his] trust." Wolf said that all the lyrics he wrote for the first Mammoth WVH were "directed at this amalgamation of people who took advantage of me."

Discussing the Eddie Van Halen tribute concert that his uncle-and-Van-Halen-drummer Alex Van Halen was reported to have been involved with, along with Joe Satriani, Wolf it "never got off the ground" because "there are some people that make it very difficult to do anything when it comes to Van Halen."

He was pushed by the interviewer on whether this person might go by three initials -- an obvious reference to the band's former singer David Lee Roth -- Wolfgang said, “Do your research on the history of Van Halen, and come to your conclusions.”

Wolf went on to say he wants the second Mammoth WVH album "to come out next year," and that "this next round is really going to show people that it’s not just this one-off, you know, Van Halen kid playing musician. Like, this is what I do. It’s what I’ve been doing half of my life. This is all I want to do. It’s the only thing that really gives my life meaning [laughs]."
