Cher has recently taken issue with other artists being compared to her. The iconic singer and actress recently felt the need to respond after someone posted to Twitter comparing Dua Lipa to her.
The tweet read, “Dua Lipa, the Cher of our generation,” Cher then off offered a typical Cher response, saying, “How many years are in a generation?”
Another person also took exception, tweeting, “False. I’m a millennial and it will always be Cher for me.” Another fan posted a response, saying, “Cher is for boomers/ gen X. Dua Lipa is for millennials/ gen Z.” Finally, another response from Twitter, “People are not really understanding the cultural impact Cher had,” adding, “Anyone can dress like Cher today, but it’s not the same thing as being the first one to break that ground. That was Cher.”
