Bruce Springsteen has just released his cover version of "The Nightshift," the 1985 song from The Commodores. It's one of 15 R&B covers on The Boss’ new album, ‘Only the Strong Survive.’
The song was written as a tribute to the late Marvin Gaye and Jackie Wilson. Springsteen also released a video featuring him dressed in a gray suit and black shirt, fronting a band that includes The E Street Horns, and E Street Band backing vocalists Soozie Tyrell, Michelle Moore and Curtis King Jr.
When Springsteen, producer Ron Aniello and engineer Rob Lebret were working on the album, they referred to themselves as "The Nightshift."
Only the Strong Survive will be released on November 11th.
