Motley Crue guitarist Mick Mars has just announced that he will no longer tour with the band, due to the disease he's had to cope with since the beginning of his career.
In a statement released to Variety, a band spokesperson cited Mick’s "ongoing painful struggle with Ankylosing Spondylitis (A.S.)." He will remain a member of the band, but is unable to keep dealing with "the rigors of the road." A.S. is described as "an extremely painful and crippling degenerative disease, which affects the spine."
The band has not yet named a touring guitarist to replace Mars. Motley Crue just wrapped up the North American leg of The Stadium Tour on the bill with Def Leppard and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. They are scheduled to tour South America and Europe next February through July.
