Ozzy Osbourne, Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason, Andy Taylor of Duran Duran, and Slade vocalist Noddy Holder are all featured on the new song "This Christmas Time" to raise money for The Cancer Awareness Trust's new Cancer Platform.
Ozzy opens up the song, which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. Ozzy opens the song with 2 minutes and 40 seconds of narration as he reads letters written by British soldiers during World War One.
Mason said, "It's an honor and a delight to be asked to play on this record… I mean, what's not to like? My favorite recording studio, the opportunity to work with great artists on a wonderful track — and for the most worthy cause… Oh, and complimentary lunch in the Abbey Road canteen!"
Andy Taylor, who recently revealed a prostate cancer diagnosis, said, “The underlying sense of community and diversity that runs through the DNA of musicians, comes together here on the most beautiful of songs. Music has always been my pleasure and sometimes it’s a privilege, a privilege to work with such an incredible group of people, to create a wonderful track, and, as a recipient of The Big C hopefully we can prick a tad of awareness towards the incredible work of The Evamore Project.”
The son will be available to download and stream this Friday. You can listen to it now on The Cancer Platform website -- TheCancerPlatform.com.
