Andy Taylor is to make an appearance on the upcoming Duran Duran album.
Bassist John Taylor told The Mirror that singer Simon LeBon is scheduled to go to Andy Taylor's studio in Ibiza to record material for the project that should be released by the end of this year. Andy Taylor was supposed to perform with his old bandmates last November, but he couldn't travel because of his prostate cancer. LeBon took Taylor's Rock Hall trophy to him last year.
Talking about the new album, John Taylor said "There’s a lot of cover songs on the album, songs meaningful to us when we were kids. So having [Andy] be a part of that project is great."
Andy Taylor last appeared on the Duran Duran album Astronaut in 2004.
The band took to Instagram and posted that Andy Taylor "will join us on guitar on a few tracks," also saying that the new project will feature "extended Duran Duran family and friends."
