Elton John done touring, but he's open to the idea of more

Elton John posted a video recap of Saturday night's show in Stockholm, Sweden, which was the finale of his 5-year ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour.

Sir Elton writes, "When we set off on my final tour in 2018, I couldn’t have foreseen in my wildest dreams the twists and turns and the highs and lows this tour -- and the whole world -- would have experienced in the next five years.”

He also says, "And every step of the way, my fans have been there. You have stuck with me, you have supported me, you have been patient and you have kept turning out for every single last show.”

"Saturday night was magical. I’m trying to process it and I don’t think it will sink in for a while yet that I’m finally finished touring. I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss you all and how much your support has humbled me -- it will stay with me forever."

Elton also posted a photo of him with his crew. He writes, "To every person who has worked on this tour and my extraordinary crew, the backbone of every show, I cannot begin to express my thanks. From the lighting wizards to the talented sound and design engineers and costume magicians, tireless drivers and incredible caterers, talented photographer, our brilliant partners at AEG, Marshall Arts and Chugg Entertainment and of course my first-class band, each one of you brings this show to life.”

"Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making every performance an unforgettable experience and filling the last five years of the farewell tour with memories I will never forget.

"Thank you!!"

Elton may be done touring, but he's not opposed to performing benefit shows, special events or even a residency somewhere. However, he has ruled out a return to Las Vegas where he did two residencies -- The Red Piano from 2004 to 2009, and The Million Dollar Piano from 2011 to 2018.

After his annual summer vacation, Sir Elton will return to the studio in October to begin recording a brand new album.
