Sammy Hagar, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted, GRAMMY award-winning singer and songwriter, is expanding his adult beverages portfolio with a new craft beer brand: Red Rocker Brewing Co. The brewery is based in Detroit, Michigan, a city that Hagar says has "rock 'n' roll in its soul".
The first brew from Red Rocker Brewing Co. is a Mexican-style lager named Red Rocker Lager, which will be unveiled on October 23rd at The Fillmore in Detroit featuring a performance by Sammy and The Circle. The Circle is Hagar's supergroup that includes former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham and guitarist Vic Johnson. The band has released two albums: At Your Service, a live album of hits from Hagar's four decades of rock, and Crazy Times, an original album that features songs like "Crazy Times" and "Pump It Up".
Red Rocker Lager is inspired by Hagar's Cabo Wabo roots in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where he also produces his famous tequila brand. The beer is a golden, medium-bodied lager that is light, crisp and refreshing, with just a touch of sweetness. Hagar says he worked with head brewer Cameron Schubert and Brew Detroit for months to create the perfect beer for his fans.
Red Rocker Lager will be sold in four-packs of 16-ounce cans in liquor stores and bars throughout Michigan, and will also be available soon for shipping to select states through RedRockerBrewing.com. Hagar says he can't wait for beer lovers in Michigan and all around the world to try it.
Hagar's other beverages include Mezquila, the world's first tequila/mezcal blend, rum and sparkling rum canned cocktails. He says he loves to create drinks that reflect his personality and lifestyle.
