The Rolling Stones are gearing up for a U.S. tour in 2024 to support their new album, ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ which will be released on Friday.
The legendary rock band had to postpone many of their shows due to the pandemic, but they are eager to get back on the road and reconnect with their fans. Ronnie Wood, the guitarist of the band, told NME that they "have a lot of gigs undone because of the pandemic. So, we're gonna go back and settle score in America. That's what we're gonna try and do."
He added that once "the band is rolling again," they'll expand it from there and explore other possibilities.
One of them could be returning to England's Glastonbury festival for the first time since 2013, which Wood said would be great. He also suggested that his previous band, The Faces, could perform there as well. "That's not out of the question. I know they [Rod Stewart and Kenney Jones] want to do it," Wood said.
Wood also commented on the rumors of a Rolling Stones bio-pic, saying that it has been in the works for a long time, but he leaves the final decision to the original members, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. “The iron has been in the fire for many years. [There’s been] different approaches to it. I always leave that to the original members, you know. I’m not going to interfere. I let Keith and Mick talk about that,” Wood said.
The Rolling Stones are one of the most influential and successful bands in rock history, with over 250 million albums sold worldwide and countless awards and honors. Their new album, ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ is their 25th studio album and features 12 new songs.
We’ll celebrate the release of their new album with our iHeartRadio ICONS with The Rolling Stones: Celebrating the release of ‘Hackney Diamonds’ this Friday evening at 7pm on BIG 95 KBGO and on iHeartRadio.
