The Rolling Stones have once again proven their enduring appeal with their new album, "Hackney Diamonds". The album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200, marking their 38th Top 10 release. This achievement sets a new record for the most Top 10-charting albums in the history of the list.
In its first week, "Hackney Diamonds" sold 94,000 units, with streaming equivalent units comprising 6,000 (equaling 8.41 million on-demand official streams of the album’s songs) and track equivalent units comprising 1,000. The album's sales were boosted by its availability across more than 30 vinyl variants (totaling 36,000 sold), two deluxe boxed sets (with either a branded shirt or a hat, plus a CD), a digi-pack CD, a CD/blu-ray box set and a standard CD and download album.
Meanwhile in their homeland, the UK, "Hackney Diamonds" topped the Official Albums Chart after amassing 72,200 chart units. This makes it the third highest-selling album of 2023. In addition, it's number-one on the UK's Official Vinyl Albums Chart.
This is their 14th number-one album in the UK, and the 11th different title to achieve that goal. This ties them with The Beatles, Robbie Williams and Bruce Springsteen, all of whom have had 11 studio albums hit the top spot. The Beatles still hold the record for the most number-one albums with 16.
The success of "Hackney Diamonds" extends beyond the UK and US. It also reached number-one in Australia, marking their 34th Top 10 album Down Under.
The Rolling Stones' new album "Hackney Diamonds" is not just a collection of songs; it's a testament to their enduring legacy and influence in the world of music.
