The Zombies have revealed the reason behind their sudden cancellation of the last four shows on their U.S. tour last month. It was their keyboardist and founding member Rod Argent who suffered from a health scare that forced him to withdraw from the stage.
Argent has issued a statement on the band's official website, thanking everyone for their support and explaining what happened. He says, "I really want to thank everyone, family and friends and fans for the kind words and feelings expressed since I was forced to withdraw from our recent U.S. tour due to ill health. Lack of sleep and a very heavy work schedule, jet lag, etc. and I experienced symptoms of a visual migraine which were seriously worrying to all who were witness to the two episodes – followed by debilitating fatigue, exhaustion really. I just have to rest for some time."
Argent is expected to make a full recovery and join his bandmates at their Begin Here Festival in their hometown of St. Albans, England on November 10th, 11th and 12th. The festival will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the release of their debut album Begin Here, which featured their classic hit "She's Not There". The Zombies will also perform songs from their entire career, including their latest album Still Got That Hunger, which was released in 2015.
