Rolling Stones tease mysterious new project

The Rolling Stones are not only making headlines with their new album, ‘Hackney Diamonds,’ but also with a mysterious teaser for another project. The legendary rockers have posted an image of their iconic lips and tongue logo in gold with the caption CrossFireHurricane.com on their social media accounts. When fans visit the website, they are greeted by the same logo along with the signatures of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards and a prompt to sign up to get “exclusive access for the latest project from The Rolling Stones.”

While many are speculating that this could be a hint for an upcoming tour announcement, a spokeswoman for the band has denied that this is the case. She also refused to reveal what the project is about, leaving fans in suspense. However, some clues suggest that it could be related to a re-release of their 2012 documentary, Crossfire Hurricane, which is also a line in their 1968 song, "Jumpin' Jack Flash."

The film, directed by Brett Morgen, chronicled the band's turbulent history from their formation in 1962 to their 50th anniversary in 2012. It featured archival footage and interviews with the band members, covering topics such as the riots at their concerts in the '60s, the drug busts, the death of guitarist Brian Jones, the murder of a fan at their performance at the Altamont Festival in 1969, and their exile to France in the early '70s to avoid the U.K. tax collector.

In a 2012 interview, Jagger said that he wanted the film to show the "peaks and lows" of the band's career. "There were some uphill moments and there were some laughs. Obviously you can't have too many down moments. But there were down moments and like in life there are down moments in people's lives. It's not all some fairy tale, you know. And even fairy tales have down moments. So, in the film I didn't want to accentuate the down moments, but there's certainly peaks and lows," he said.

One question that remains unanswered is why the website only features the signatures of Jagger and Richards, and not Ronnie Wood, who is the third member of the band. Although Wood was not a major part of the documentary, he did appear in it and has been a member of the band since 1975.
