Bon Jovi fans may have a reason to celebrate, as the band's former guitarist Richie Sambora has hinted at a possible reunion for their upcoming new album. Sambora, who left the band in 2013 to focus on his family, says he has been in contact with his former bandmates and has participated in a documentary about the band's history.
Sambora tells People, "There’s a documentary that’s being done about the band and stuff that I’ve participated in, and people want to come see us play, and it’s going to make everybody happy. I mean, essentially, that’s why you do it at this point.
“So yeah, it definitely could happen. It’s just a question of when everybody’s ready to go do it. It will be a big, massive kind of undertaking.”
Sambora also says that the timing is right for a reunion, as the band is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. He says, “I’m not sure. It’s up to [others and] it’s got to be right. That’s all. It’s time to do it, though. This is our 40th anniversary, but I feel younger than ever. I’m having a ball.”
Bon Jovi, who released their 15th studio album, 2020, last year, have not confirmed or denied Sambora's statements. The band is currently preparing for a tour in 2024, which will include a residency in Las Vegas. Fans are hoping that Sambora will join them on stage and in the studio, and relive the glory days of one of the most successful rock bands of all time.
