Taylor Swift has proven once again that she is a force to be reckoned with in the music industry, as her latest album, ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version),’ a re-recording of her fifth album, 2014's 1989, stays at the top of the U.K. album chart for a third consecutive week.
The pop superstar's album, which features new versions of her hit songs such as “Shake It Off”, “Blank Space” and “Bad Blood”, as well as previously unreleased tracks and collaborations, has sold over 200,000 copies in the U.K. since its release on November 12, 2023.
Swift's album has kept The Beatles from achieving their 16th number-one album in the U.K., as the re-release of their classic compilations, 1967-1970 ("Blue Album") and 1962-1966 ("Red Album"), settled for the third and fourth spots respectively, which is where they peaked when originally released in 1973.
