Sammy Hagar's upcoming Van Halen tribute tour, ‘The Best of All Worlds,’ might have a surprise guest: former frontman David Lee Roth.
Last week, Hagar announced that he would be honoring the legacy of his late friend and bandmate Eddie Van Halen with a summer tour featuring guitarist Joe Satriani and Circle members Michael Anthony and Jason Bonham. He also said that he would welcome Eddie's brother Alex Van Halen and Roth to join them on stage.
While Alex has not commented on the invitation, Roth sent a message to the Van Halen News Desk saying, "I'm ready to go. Let's do this..."
Hagar and Roth have a complicated history, as they both served as lead singers of Van Halen at different times and had a rivalry for years. They buried the hatchet in 2002, when they co-headlined a tour, but they never shared the stage together.
The Best of All Worlds tour, with Loverboy opening, starts on July 13th in West Palm Beach, Florida, with 28 dates, including Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas on August 22nd. The tour runs through August 31st in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
