Rod Stewart will 'swing' in the new year

Rod Stewart is ready to make his fans dance with his new album, ‘Swing Fever,’ which will be released on February 23rd. The album features 12 tracks of classic swing tunes, such as "Fly Me to the Moon", "Mack the Knife", and "The Way You Look Tonight".

The album is produced by former Squeeze piano player and UK television personality Jools Holland, who also plays in several songs. The first single, “Almost Like Being in Love,” a cover of the Frank Sinatra hit, will be released tomorrow (Tuesday).

Stewart says he has always loved swing music and wanted to pay tribute to the genre. “The record is going to be a difficult sell because it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but once you listen, you get hooked. There isn’t one track on it where you won’t want to get up and dance,” he says.

Holland agrees, saying, “The music is lively. It’s a celebration of joy. Rod has a great voice and a great sense of humor. He brings a lot of energy and charisma to the songs.”

Swing Fever is Stewart's 33rd album and first since 2021's The Tears of Hercules, which was a collection of original songs inspired by Greek mythology. Stewart says he enjoys exploring different styles and themes in his music and hopes his fans will appreciate his versatility.

“I’ve been doing this for a long time, and I still love it. I don’t want to repeat myself or get bored. I want to challenge myself and have fun. And I hope my fans will have fun with me too,” he says.

Swing Fever will be available on CD, vinyl, and digital platforms. Stewart will also embark on a world tour in support of the album, starting in March. For more information, visit his official website.
