Grammy-winning singer Michael Bolton has revealed that he underwent surgery to remove a large brain tumor just before the holidays.
In a Facebook post, Bolton shared the news with his fans, saying he was "surprised and shocked" by the diagnosis, but thankful for his "incredible medical team" who performed a successful operation.
He said he is now recovering at home with the "tremendous love and support" of his family and asked for his fans' "prayers and positive thoughts" as he focuses on his health.
Bolton also announced that he will have to take a temporary break from touring, which means postponing his North American dates from February through May. He apologized to his fans for any inconvenience and said he hopes to reschedule the shows as soon as possible.
He added that he is "determined to come back stronger than ever" and thanked his fans for their "loyalty and understanding."
Bolton, 70, is best known for his hits such as "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You", "When a Man Loves a Woman" and "Said I Loved You...But I Lied".
