Rickey Medlocke, Lynyrd Skynyrd’s guitarist, has launched a solo project to support a cause close to his heart. He has released a new single called "Never Run Out of Road," which aims to raise awareness and funds for the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center (NIWRC), an organization that works to end the trafficking of Native American women and protect their rights.
Medlocke, who is of Lakota Sioux and Cherokee ancestry, said in a statement, “I want to give back to my native community through 'Never Run Out of Road' and I want to educate others on the missing and murdered indigenous women crisis and empower people to get involved.” He added that he hopes his song will inspire people to learn more about the issue and support the NIWRC's efforts.
"Never Run Out of Road" is a rock anthem that reflects Medlocke's musical roots and personal journey. The song features contributions from his Lynyrd Skynyrd bandmates Peter Keys and Stacy Michelle, and other musicians and friends. The single is available for download and streaming on Bandcamp [1], where fans can pay any amount above $1 and that amount will also be donated to the NIWRC.
