Bon Jovi fans have been waiting for years to see the original lineup back together on stage. Now, they may finally get their wish, as former guitarist Richie Sambora is expected to join Jon Bon Jovi and the rest of the band at two upcoming events in Los Angeles.
Sambora, who left the band in 2013 to focus on his family and solo career, has been open to reuniting with his former bandmates, even participating in a four-part, 40th anniversary documentary being made about them, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, which will premiere on Hulu on April 26th.
The documentary, directed by filmmaker Gotham Chopra, will feature the "full cooperation from all past and present members of Bon Jovi" and provide "a view behind the music and the man", according to Hulu. The series will include personal videos, unreleased demos, original lyrics, and never-before-seen photos that chronicle the journey from Jersey Shore clubs to the biggest stages on the planet.
But before the documentary airs, Sambora will reportedly be there to support Jon Bon Jovi as he receives two prestigious honors in the music industry. On February 4th, Jon Bon Jovi will be recognized as MusiCares Person of the Year, a tribute that celebrates his artistic achievements and philanthropic work. The event, which will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, will feature performances by various artists, including Bon Jovi, and a live auction.
On February 7th, Jon Bon Jovi will receive the Milestone Award at the Pollstar Awards, the concert industry publication's annual celebration of the best in live entertainment. The award, which will be presented at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, honors an artist who has achieved remarkable and enduring success in touring. Jon Bon Jovi will also be the keynote speaker at the Pollstar Live conference, which will be held at the same venue.
According to sources, Sambora will attend both events and reunite with Bon Jovi on stage for some special performances. This will mark the first time that Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi have shared the stage since 2018, when Bon Jovi was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Bon Jovi fans are eagerly anticipating the reunion and hoping that it will lead to more collaborations in the future.
