Rod Stewart has enlisted his wife, Penny Lancaster, to join him in the video for his cover of "Pennies from Heaven", a classic song from the 1930s. The video is part of Stewart's new album, Swing Fever, which features collaborations with former Squeeze keyboard player Jools Holland.
The video shows Stewart singing the song with Holland and his band in a retro-style studio, while Lancaster dances with a partner in a glamorous ballroom. The video culminates with Stewart and Lancaster embracing each other as confetti falls and his three female background singers hold a banner that says, "In Rod We Trust".
Swing Fever is Stewart's 32nd studio album and his first since 2019's You're in My Heart. The album showcases Stewart's love for swing and jazz music, with covers of songs by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Louis Armstrong, and others. The album also features original songs written by Stewart and Holland, such as "One More Time" and "Can't We Be Friends".
Swing Fever will be released on February 23, 2024. Stewart will also embark on a world tour to promote the album, starting in March.
