Lou Gramm, the original singer lead singer of Foreigner, is gearing up to release his first album in 15 years this fall. The album will feature songs that he rediscovered from his previous solo albums and his short-lived band Shadow King.
Gramm, who left Foreigner in 2003, revealed the details of his new album in an audio clip. He said that he was finishing up the last two songs, which he had gathered from different sources. He said that he had listened to the masters of his first and second solo albums, Ready or Not and Long Hard Look, and the Shadow King album, which he recorded in 1990 with future Def Leppard guitarist Vivian Campbell and others. He said that he had found outtakes of great ideas of songs that he did not have time to complete back then. He said that he had gone back to hear them 25 to 30 years later, and that the ideas were awesome. He said that he had written the missing pieces to complete the songs.
Gramm said that the first song from the album would be out in the early fall, and that the album would follow around Thanksgiving. He also said that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony would be in the fall, and that he hoped that Foreigner would be elected for induction. He said that it would tie in nicely with his promotional plans for the album.
Gramm's last album was The Lou Gramm Band, which he released in 2009 with his brothers Ben and Richard Gramm, and other musicians. The album was a Christian rock album that reflected Gramm's faith.
