KISS is reportedly embracing the digital age by introducing avatars to their performances, a concept that has been in the pipeline since 2012. Doc McGee, KISS's manager, shared on The Rock Experience With Mike Brunn that the band has been contemplating this technological leap for a while.
While they were Initially hesitant to avatar technology, McGee expressed that they were waiting for the right moment when they could fully utilize these digital representations.
The turning point came after witnessing the success of ABBA's virtual concert experience, "ABBA Voyage," in London. That show convinced KISS that the technology had matured enough to meet their vision. Now, after years of anticipation and development, KISS is looking to transition into this new realm, with their first avatar-driven show possibly in 2027.
We’ll keep you posted on the latest.
