Pete Townshend recently dispelled rumors that The Who is nearing the end of their touring days. Appearing on iHeartRadio’s ‘Jim Kerr Rock & Roll Morning Show’ on WAXQ New York, Townshend clarified the band’s position on future tours.
Despite turning down a tour offer proposed as a final tour, Townshend assured fans that the decision was not a signal of the band's retirement from the road. His commitment to the Broadway adaptation of "Tommy" and other projects were the reasons for the decline, not a desire to stop touring.
Roger Daltrey is keeping the spirit of The Who alive with a series of solo shows. Daltrey will rock 11 U.S. dates, starting on June 10th in Glenside, Pennsylvania through June 29th in Highland Park, Illinois.
