Heart has announced the postponement of all their 2024 shows due to lead singer Ann Wilson's cancer diagnosis. This shocking news follows the cancellation of their European tour in late May, which was initially attributed to Wilson needing to undergo a "time-sensitive but routine medical procedure."
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday afternoon, Wilson revealed, "I recently underwent an operation to remove something that, as it turns out, was cancerous. The operation was successful and I'm feeling great, but my doctors are now advising me to undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and l've decided to do it."
She further stated that her doctors have advised her to take the rest of the year off from performing to fully recover. However, she reassured fans, "I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025... This is merely a pause. I've much more to sing."
Heart was scheduled to open three shows on the Def Leppard - Journey stadium tour in Cleveland on July 30th, Toronto on August 2nd, and Boston on August 5th. Following this, they had a three-leg arena tour set to start on August 7th in Quebec City and run through early December. Fans have been advised to retain their tickets as they will be honored for the rescheduled dates next year. Wilson concluded her post by stating, "Respectfully, this is the last public statement I'd like to make on the matter."
We wish Ann and her family all the best in a speedy recovery.
