Over a year after he passed away, the late Robbie Robertson will be honored with an all-star concert. The event, titled "Life Is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson," is set to take place on October 17th at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles.
The lineup will feature Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Bob Weir, Elvis Costello, Warren Haynes, Bruce Hornsby, Trey Anastasio, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Eric Church, Noah Kahan, Daniel Lanois, Taj Mahal, Robert Randolph, Nathaniel Rateliff, Allison Russell, Mavis Staples, Don Was, Lucinda Williams, and many others.
Tickets go on sale this Friday. In a gesture that honors Robertson's roots, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Woodland Cultural Centre. This organization funds a variety of educational and creative programs on the Sixth Nations Reserve in Canada, where Robertson was raised.
Robbie Robertson passed away on August 9th, 2023, from prostate cancer at the age of 80.
