Rod Stewart was set to conclude his Las Vegas residency, "The Hits," at Caesars Palace this week after an impressive 200 shows. Unfortunately, due to a bout of strep throat, he had to cancel the performance. Expressing his disappointment, Stewart said, “I’m desperately sorry to miss this 200th show celebration. Many people can work with strep throat but obviously not me. I’m absolutely gutted.” He also extended his deepest regrets for any inconvenience caused and shared his anticipation for the concert.
Although this was supposed to be the finale of his 13-year residency, Rod has decided to return with a new show next year. He said, "Vegas, I’m having too much fun for this to end so we are coming back for an encore!" The new residency, titled "The Encore Shows," will take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from March 12th to the 22nd and May 29th to June 8th.
The upcoming residency will not only feature Stewart's greatest hits but also surprises from the Great American Songbook, swing tunes from his latest album "Swing Fever," deep cuts, and stunning new production elements. Fans can look forward to an unforgettable experience with exact dates set for March 12th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 21st, and 22nd, and May 29th, 31st, June 1st, 5th, 7th, and 8th.
