Elton John has certainly seen better days

Elton John has certainly seen better days—quite literally. After revealing that an infection over the summer left him blind in his right eye, he recently shared that his vision in the left eye has also deteriorated. Despite these challenges, Elton took the stage on Sunday for a curtain call with the cast of his London musical, The Devil Wears Prada. He told the audience, "I haven’t been able to come to many of the previews because, as you know, I have lost my eyesight. So, it’s hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it and, boy, it sounded good tonight.”

In an interview with Good Morning America, Elton expressed a mix of realism and hope about his condition. He acknowledged the difficulties he faces, saying, "There’s hope and encouragement that it will be okay, but I’m kind of stuck in the moment, because going into the studio and recording, I don’t know, because I can’t see a lyric for start." Despite these setbacks, Sir Elton remains focused on finding ways to improve his situation, emphasizing that his current priority is to work on his health.

Elton's optimism shines through even in these tough times. The rock ‘n roll legend admitted that the loss of his eyesight has been a significant blow, making it impossible for him to read, watch, or see anything. Yet, his determination to overcome these obstacles is evident. "It's never fortunate for anything like this to happen. And it kind of floored me, and I can’t see anything, I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything," he shared. But with his characteristic resilience, Elton John continues to inspire his legions of fans worldwide.
