Elton John and Brandi Carlile celebrated all weekend

Elton John and Brandi Carlile celebrated the release of their collaborative album, ‘Who Believes in Angels?,’ with a special appearance at the 92nd Street Y in New York City on Friday. The event featured the premiere of a behind-the-scenes film, Who Believes in Angels? Stories From the Edge of Creation, which offers a 32-minute glimpse into the making of the album. Following the screening, Elton, Brandi, lyricist Bernie Taupin, and producer Andrew Watt participated in a Q&A session with Dave Karger from Turner Classic Movies. Elton candidly discussed the emotional challenges he faced during the album's creation, admitting to moments of frustration and self-doubt that ultimately fueled his creative process.

On Saturday, Elton and Brandi took the stage as musical guests on Saturday Night Live, performing two tracks from the new album: "Little Richard’s Bible" and the title track, "Who Believes in Angels?". They were backed by a stellar band, including Watt on guitar and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. This marked the third appearance on the show for both artists—Elton having previously performed in 1982 and 2011, and Brandi in 2021 and 2022. Their dynamic performances were a highlight of the night, showcasing their unique musical chemistry.

The weekend concluded with a special broadcast on CBS and Paramount+, An Evening With Elton John and Brandi Carlile. This one-hour concert and Q&A special, filmed at the London Palladium last month, provided fans with an intimate look at the duo's creative journey. To coincide with the album's release, a music video for "Little Richard’s Bible" was also released, featuring footage from the behind-the-scenes film. Elton expressed his admiration for Little Richard, calling him a major influence and dedicating the song to his legacy.
