Lou Gramm has big plans this year

Lou Gramm, the original voice behind Foreigner’s biggest hits, had previously hinted that 2025 would mark his final year on the road. He even expressed doubts about making occasional appearances with the band. But after wrapping up a successful Latin American tour with Foreigner last month, it looks like Gramm has had a change of heart. “I’m enjoying it immensely,” he said in a recent phone interview. “And I’m also doing it to honor [founder and guitarist] Mick Jones, who would be there if he was feeling well enough. So, I’m waving the original Foreigner flag. And that’s my purpose for being there.”

As Foreigner gears up for the summer leg of their farewell tour, kicking off June 11th in Highland, California, Lou is ready to rejoin the band—just not full-time. “I don’t want to tour intensely all summer,” he explained. “But I talked to Foreigner management, and they would like me to pop out for every other show or something.”

This summer tour also marks a major transition for Foreigner. It will be the final run with longtime lead singer Kelly Hansen, who is retiring. Stepping into his shoes is guitarist Luis Maldonado, who will take over vocal duties moving forward.
