In a heartfelt gesture of generosity, former Journey frontman Steve Perry recently auctioned off more than 50 personal items from his archives, raising an impressive $215,000 to support wildfire relief efforts in Altadena, California. The community, located just outside Los Angeles, was hit hard by wildfires this past January. Among the standout items was the handwritten lyrics to the classic “Don’t Stop Believin’,” which alone fetched a $43,500.
Reflecting on the auction’s success, Perry shared his deep gratitude: “I’m truly appreciative of the incredible support for this charity auction. It means the world to me to see these personal pieces, many of which carry deep memories from different chapters of my life, find new homes while helping a cause that matters so deeply to me.”
The auction was made possible through Darkives Collectibles, a new memorabilia platform launched by George Harrison’s Dark Horse Records, in partnership with the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund.
