Foreigner '4' returns this year

Foreigner is turning back the clock with a deluxe reissue of their iconic fourth album, ‘4,’ set to drop on September 12th. The album not only marked their fourth studio release but also a shift in the band’s lineup—from six members down to four—following the departure of Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood.

The album that gave us unforgettable hits like “Urgent,” “Waiting for a Girl Like You,” and “Juke Box Hero” has been fully remastered and will be available in multiple formats, including vinyl and Blu-ray. There’s also awesome bonus content: five previously unreleased tracks, 14 early and alternate versions, 15 instrumentals, and 15 live performances from their 1981–82 world tour.

Originally released on July 2nd, 1981, 4 spent an impressive 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200—more than any other artist in Atlantic Records history, even surpassing legends like AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. With over 10 million copies sold worldwide and six-times platinum status in the U.S., it’s no wonder Mick Jones, the band’s founder and guitarist, calls it “one of the most exciting periods of my life.” He credits the album’s success to the collaborative magic between himself, co-producer Mutt Lange, vocalist Lou Gramm, bassist Rick Wills, and drummer Dennis Elliott.
