KISS is really turning up the volume on nostalgia with a 50th anniversary edition of their legendary album, ‘Alive!’ The band’s 1975 breakthrough record is getting a major upgrade, thanks to the original producer and engineer, Eddie Kramer, who recently spent 46 days meticulously mixing the tapes for this special release. “Fortunately, they found all the bloody tapes,” Kramer said, explaining how he restored and transferred the original recordings. He didn’t stop there—he also mixed every single show that contributed to the final album, along with rehearsals that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley insisted on recording. “We were able to capture some fantastic performances,” Kramer added, praising the band’s dedication to making the album sound “fantastic.”
Kramer has also mixed it in Dolby Atmos, promising a more immersive listening experience than ever before. KISS fans will get to hear Alive! like they’ve never heard it before—raw, powerful, and with a clarity that brings the really brings the energy of those iconic performances right into the room.
While Universal hasn’t announced an official release date yet, the buzz is that it’ll drop just in time for “KISSmas,” giving fans the perfect gift to crank up during the holidays.
